Soccer Babe

My debut post on Pretty 'n Peach! I don't claim to be any expert on scrapbooking but I do love to do it. For my birthday I got a Cricut from my mother-in-law (fantastic gift right??) I found a scrapbook store here in GA and found out they do crop days. I was excited to get to be around other scrappers and learn a little more about my new machine. I didn't get a ton of pages done but I learned a LOT. This was my favorite page from the day. I loved doing the soccer field as a layout. I used the cricut to cut out all the shapes and the letters (this is the very basic of what a cricut can do but even the basic stuff is so great!) I also used soccer Jolee' stickers and a couple of soccer brads on a couple of the pictures. I plan on adding some journaling in there too. Now I just need to stock up on my Cricut cartridges!

Pottery Barn inspired quilt

While looking through a Pottery Barn Kids magazine (I know, I don't even HAVE kids, but it doesn't mean I can't look at cute tiny things!) I fell in love with this quilt! I was taking a home decor sewing class at the time and knew I had to attempt a knock off for my final project!

There is so much I love about this darling quilt, the bright colors, the scalloped edges, the tiny ric rac, the trees, and of course- the owls! The owls aren't a part of this quilt, but I desperately wanted them to be a part of mine!

Here is what I came up with...

My jewel of a mom happens to have a business doing Long Arm Quilting! (How lucky am I?) So I made the top and she quilted it for me! She really went to town on this; adding so much detail and character!

{grass & flowers}

{clouds}

{sun & wind}

{a sweet butterfly and field mouse hiding between the trees}
{dragonflies}
{a closer look at the owl}
{ric rac and scallops}

{more scallops and the back}
I have to say, I am thrilled with how it turned out! Pottery Barn, eat your heart out!
{p.s. if you are in need of someone to do the quilting on your projects my mom's business is called Quilted with Kerr (her name is Kerry-- how clever is she? ;) ) and she can be reached at (480) 861-1431. She is located in AZ but will accept projects from any state!}

Burp Cloths

I am loving how these frayed burp cloths turned out! They were a cinch to make and are going to make a great baby shower gift for my co-worked, Liza!
I used this tutorial and pattern from homemade by jill!
She has the cutest projects, I could browse her blog for days and never get bored!
what do you think?
